Our Story
Ntu Welllness Center is a non-profit organization founded by three passionate mental health clinicians who shared a powerful vision: to create a healing space rooted in cultural relevance, accessibility, and transformation. United by a deep commitment to serving marginalized communities, we formed NTU as a public benefit nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to quality mental health care—particularly for BIPOC individuals and families.
Our mission is twofold:
-
To provide holistic, affordable, and culturally grounded mental health services
-
To train and empower the next generation of BIPOC therapists in a supportive, affirming environment
Traditional mental health spaces have often failed to offer the safety, cultural understanding, and spiritual depth that true healing requires. At NTU, we reclaim healing through a mind-body-spirit approach, honoring ancestral wisdom and the whole person—not just symptoms.
We incorporate the principles of the NTU philosophy, the foundations of Black Psychology, and the guiding values of Kwanzaa—such as unity (Umoja), self-determination (Kujichagulia), and collective work and responsibility (Ujima). These values shape our services, our training, and our presence in the community.
NTU isn’t just a wellness center—it’s a movement. We exist to bridge gaps in care, cultivate community wellness, and nurture therapists of color who are often underrepresented in the field. As we grow, we remain grounded in our roots: healing through connection, cultural integrity, and love.
